When i first started doing research into people's diets, I noticed one thing that came up frequently...
Their diet had no milk involved. Why? Because everyone reacts differently to food products, and milk seems to be the most popular thing to cut out if you want to lose weight.
Now, i listened to this and i did this, i cut out milk which i drunk about 500ml a day of and instead replaced it with Soya Milk and Almond Milk.
I then continued with my normal diet and gym routines just instead drunk only water and i personally had no weight loss through this even after numerous weeks of cutting out the dairy product so i then added milk back into my diet within reason.
I only had semi skimmed milk with my protein shake as i find water and protein powder hard to bare and i then also noticed that i didn't gain any weight either. I do have weeks where i lose a pound or two but i put that down to a strict diet and hard work at the gym.
I wouldn't recommend people who want to lose weight to drink full fat milk as that's kind of contridicting yourself but i wouldn't say a glass of semi skimmed milk a day will make you gain weight.
Personally i would say trial your diet without milk for 4 weeks and see if that has any major effects, if not slowly bring milk back into your diet and just don't drink more than a glass a day.
It all depends on what your body takes best, you need to listen to your body, record each week what food and drink you've comsumed and if you've gained weight, take a look back and think 'hmm, maybe i'm having a bit too much of this' etc.
If milk doesn't have an effect on your weight loss then why stop drinking it?
Milk, to drink or not to drink?
